Simulation of a hostage crisis at Sarajevo International Airport

A demonstrative military exercise called „Quick response 2017“ is being in progress at Sarajevo International Airport. On second day a hostage crisis was simulated.
According to the scenario of the exercise, a group of terrorist raided into the Airport complex in order to commit a terrorist attack, but they were killed by policemen. During the action a few hostages and members of SIPA and EUFOR were injured. They were administered first aid and then transported by a helicopter to a hospital due to critical condition.
As the armed terrorists barricaded themselves in one of the Airport buildings after they had taken several hostages, SIPA BiH was required for support of special teams.
All emergency related activities were taken, including release of necessary information, gathering of relevant teams, keeping contacts with relevant agencies and institutions, and issuing necessary instructions. The exercise was evaluated successfu
